As a Brooklyn native, growing up it was common for us to say “ I'm about to take this trek up to the city” ( talking about taking a trip to Manhattan). It was said negatively, because it was a long process to get to the city (ie riding multiple trains and walking long street blocks), but once we got to the city we forgot all about that “trek”. So that was my motivation for creating this travel agency. Yes traveling(the transportation to the airport , time consuming lines at security, lengthy car rides and long flight times) can be draining, but as my client I want to create a smooth trek and great memories at your destination.
I believe that travel enriches your soul and opens your mind. It is one of the greatest form of education as you are able to intertwine with other cultures and learn firsthand about them. Personally I have had the awesome opportunity to visit many of my sister islands in the Caribbean, various states and Europe. There is so much to see and experience in the world and while I have not been everywhere, it is definitely on my list to do so! It is my hope that you will allow me the opportunity to assist you with achieving your travel dreams, the TrekkWright way!

I was born and raised in the United States Virgin Islands. Because we are one of only 2 U.S. countries in the Caribbean, our population is comprised of a plethora of nationalities; many that want to remain on an island while having accessibility to the freedom that American policies provide. This upbringing is where my intrigue of other cultures was birthed. As I grew older. that curiosity continued to intensify. It is my yearning to learn and experience other cultures that inevitably led to my love of travel.

My best stories are told between the pages of my passport and the open skies to domestic and international destinations. The journey started at the age of six months and never ceased which ignited an insatiable desire to travel by trains, planes, and automobiles because I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list! The trail of memories marked on the world map - capture lasting memories created in North and South America, the Caribbean, and European destinations in Italy, France, and Spain. The expeditions broaden my world view and keep me thirsting for more adventures with friends and family.
As a Trekk Wright Group Leader, I serve as a point-of-contact for our clients, the Trekkers, and create iconic experiences for travelers of all ages and all occasions. In my role, I will provide administrative support services to the CEO Shanda Johnson to ensure the seamless execution of duties and tasks to
support the agency. When I am not traveling, I enjoy reading, cooking, marathon binging on the latest TV shows and series, and dreaming about my next adventure.
Virginia Higgs

While juggling a career in healthcare and education for the past 20 years Virginia always had a passion for traveling. She and her family have taken annual trips to North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia beaches. In recent years her travels have taken her to Jamaica and Mexico. The farthest and longest trip she's taken to date, was a two day stay in Barcelona accompanied by 5 days on a Mediterranean cruise with stops in Spain,France,and Italy. The last Trek taken was to Arizona with her family and friends. She has already begun to plan her next adventure.
Virginia will be an on trip group leader for Trekk Wright.

Planning a trip and all of its logistics: finding the best hotels, delicious restaurants to eat and memorable excursions can be a hassle for some. I however find joy in helping families create and experience lifelong memories.
Because of my passion for travel, fascination with different destinations and diverse experiences I decided to become a travel agent. The world is beautiful, there are many places to explore - I look forward to helping those trips turn into reality.
